The following is a list of Scripture verses that are the scarlet thread through the Holy Bible. These verses tell in God's words why humans must be saved, and how they may be saved.

CREATION:

Gen 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

COMMAND:

Gen 2:16-17 "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:" 17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

DISOBEDIENCE:

Gen 3:6-7 "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." 7 "And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."

JUDGEMENT: DEATH UPON ADAM, AND THROUGH HIM, THE WHOLE RACE:

Rom 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

PROMISE OF REDEMPTION:

Gen 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

REDEMPTION BY BLOOD:

Gen 3:21 "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them."

GOD'S PROMISE TO ABRAHAM:

Gen 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

LIFE IS IN BLOOD:

Lev 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

GOD WILL ACCEPT A SUITABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR THE CRIMINAL (SINNER):

Lev 1:4-5 "And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him." 5 "And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation."

GOD WOULD TAKE UPON HIMSELF A BODY TO SACRIFICE:

Heb 10:5-10 "Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:" 6 "In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure." 7 "Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. "8" Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;" 9 "Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second." 10 "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."

THE REDEEMER WOULD BE CRUCIFIED:

Ps 22:14-18 "I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels." 15 "My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death." 16 "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet." 17 "I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. 18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture."

THE SUFFERING OF THE REDEEMER WOULD BE OUR SALVATION:

Isa 53:5-7 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." 6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." 7 "He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth."

THE PROMISED REDEEMER OF GENESIS 3:15 TO BE BORN OF A VIRGIN:

Isa 7:14 "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

THE PROMISED REDEEMER WOULD BE GOD HIMSELF:

Isa 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

THE PROMISED REDEEMER TO BE BORN IN BETHLEHEM:

Micah 5:2 "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

THE REDEEMER WAS BORN IN BETHLEHEM TO A VIRGIN:

Luke 1:26-27 "And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth," 26 "To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary."

Luke 2:1-7 "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed." 2 "(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)" 3 "And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city." 4 "And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)" 5 "To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child." 6 "And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered." 7 "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn."

THE REDEEMER JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS:

John 19:16-18;30 "Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away." 17 "And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:" 18 "Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst." 30 "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

GOD PROVIDED REDEMPTION BECAUSE GOD LOVED MANKIND:

John 3:16-19 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." 17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." 18 "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." 19 "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

WHAT MAN MUST DO:

Acts 16:30-31 "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

Rom 10:9-11 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." 10 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." 11 "For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

THERE IS NOTHING ELSE A PERSON CAN DO:

Eph 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" 9 "Not of works, lest any man should boast."
