Floyd County Rescue's Donation Program
Things you can do to help... wherever you are!
The Rome Floyd County Humane Society/Pet Connection
There are many ways you can help.
We work closely with the Rome Floyd County Humane Society and The Pet Connection. If you have time on your hands and want to volunteer for one of their Adopt-a-thons, answer phones, or even play with dogs, let them know! They'd be glad to have the help, and, who knows, you may be responsible for saving a pet's life!
RFHS and The Pet Connection welcomes monetary donations in this way: if you want to donate money, you can help shrink veterinary bills. You can donate directly to Culbreth-Carr-Watson Animal Clinic and ask them to put the money towards the accounts of these rescue groups.
If you would rather donate in a non-monetary way, we always welcome the following items:
- Dry Pet Food: Purina Dog Food: Purina One & Pro Plan, Purina Dog Chow Lamb and Rice Flavor (they all seem to like this flavor better), Purina Puppy Chow, Purina Cat Chow & Kitten Chow. We have to be picky here because we have found that other brands of food can trigger allergic reactions in animals. Also, save your weight seals from Purina foods, send them to RFHS, these can be redeemed for food coupons.
- Canned Pet Food: Pedigree, Skippy or Cycle Puppy, Lite, Senior and Regular Dog Food. We use this especially when we have a new adoption to help them regain their health quicker. Also, Friskies & Nine Lives cat food.
- Linens: We are always needing linens! Clean out your linen closet and bring us: old comforters for the doghouses, pillowcases and sheets we can make dog beds from, blankets, throw rugs for the puppy pens. Dogs tend to get these pretty chewed up quickly, and we are constantly needing more!
- Miscellaneous Items: Cedar shavings for the kennels; puppy and dog collars & leashes; dog treats (used in obediance training); crates large and small; used, clean pillows; and Resolve carpet cleaner (housetraining takes patience).
Any extra that we recieve of these items will be distributed amongst the volunteers we have here in Rome that do pet foster care and needy pet owners calling for help.
- If you want your business to be advertised on this website, let us know! We are looking for sponsors to help support this site and the Rome Humane Society and Pet Connection sites. Rates are very inexpensive, can help offset the cost of purchasing a domain name, so we can be more visible to Northwest Georgia's online community.
